Dreamy Canmore Maternity Session | Alberta Baby Photographer

Every once in a while, a session perfectly captures everything I love about photographing motherhood — this Canmore maternity session was one of those. Between the breathtaking mountain views, the laughter shared between these two soon-to-be parents, and the way the sunlight poured over the peaks, it was absolute magic from start to finish.


We started the evening surrounded by towering evergreens and soft mountain light, letting the beauty of nature do all the work. She looked absolutely radiant in her blush pink tulle gown, giving total fairytale vibes. The soft tones of her dress against the greenery and wildflowers created such a romantic and ethereal feel — like a scene straight out of a dream.


Then she changed into that show-stopping red gown and completely transformed the mood of the session. Bold, confident, and full of life — this look brought the drama in the best way possible. The vibrant red against the cool tones of the lake and mountains created such a stunning contrast, and when she stepped into the water, it took my breath away.

And if you’re wondering — yes, that water was cold! But she handled it like an absolute pro, laughing the whole time and making it look effortless. That adventurous spirit is what makes sessions like this so special and luckily we both remembered a change of clothes so we didn't have to drive home soaking wet.


We wrapped up the evening with the most beautiful sunset glowing behind the mountains — the perfect ending to a session that truly had it all: love, laughter, and breathtaking scenery.

Canmore is one of my favorite locations for maternity sessions because it has everything — crystal-clear lakes, lush forests, and those iconic Rocky Mountain views. No matter the season, it delivers the most cinematic backdrops for celebrating such a special chapter in life.


Whether you want something soft and romantic or bold and adventurous (or both, like this session!), the mountains are always a perfect choice.
