This maternity photo session was like no other that I have ever photographed before. First things first, we ended up having to reschedule because the weather was going to be -40 YIKES!!! But luckily, since Calgary weather is so mixed up we only had to wait two days and then it was only -6 Celsius. It was a perfect snowy setting at the Fish Creek Visitor Centre, we really couldn't of picked a more perfect spot for a maternity session.
So like most maternity sessions, we did a mixture of poses in various locations, some with just mom, and some with both parents. Melissa looked stunning in every pose and Shamus was such a trooper and was happy to do any pose I asked.
Then at the end something very exciting happened .......

AND BAM!!!!! There it is!!! Shamus called me about 2 weeks before the session telling me that he wanted to propose to Melissa during their session. I was overjoyed with the news and was so excited to plan something like this. We were quite sneaky in the whole process and planned that when Shamus went to kiss Melissa's belly I would have her look at the trees and then he would pull out the ring. Afterwards, I then told Melissa to look at her boyfriend and when she looked down she saw him holding THE MOST BEAUTIFUL RING IN THE WORLD!! Her reaction was absolutely perfect and I am so grateful that I got to photograph it! What a perfect way to start 2018, don't you think???
